Travis Montrell “Bookie” Williams Sr., 42, was born on Sunday, April 1, 1979 to Fait and Barbara Newsome in St. Augustine, Florida. Travis was educated in the St. Johns County School District. He was of the Baptist faith, and worshipped at First Baptist of Armstrong. Travis was known by many for his humorous demeanor. He had such an exceptional knack for making others laugh. Travis loved spending quality time with family and friends. Travis was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Fait Newsome. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Barbara (Darryl) Brown, sons, Travis Williams Jr. “Chug”, Jah’von Willis, daughter, Chantravia Williams, sisters, Erika Williams, Tabitha Newsome, Antwanette (Shawn) Beckford-Craig, Paris Brown, brothers, Vonche Williams, Terrell Newsome, Darrell Newsome, Obryan Newsome, Sebron (Evelyn) Peeples, Jay Moore, Andre Gill, grandmother, Ruby Davis and a host of loving family and friends.
The Williams family will receive friends and the community from 5-7:30 p.m., on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon, on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Lord’s Temple, 140 Gilmore St. Hastings, Bishop Thomas Cave III, pastor. Rev. Michael Session is the eulogist.
