Viola Bowen was born on August 11, 1977, to John and Cathy Morgan in Gainesville, Florida. She was educated in the Alachua and Putnam County School Districts.
Viola was of the Pentecostal faith and loved sharing her testimony of how Jesus saved and delivered her. Her early childhood shaped her into a strong, resilient woman, and with God’s love and guidance, she grew into the beautiful soul so many cherished.
Viola later married Moses Bowen, who was not only her husband but also her dear friend. She could often be found caring for and creating special memories with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.
Viola will be missed dearly, but the love she gave will continue to fill the space her presence once held.
She was preceded in eternal rest by her daughter, Donnell Butler.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Moses Bowen; her children, Alexis Jefferson, Kevon Jefferson, Viara Palmer, Sherlesh Palmer, Lanaisha Bowen, Donniesha Butler, and Tony Bowen; her stepdaughter, Katrina Strong; her brother, John Bowen; a host of grandchildren; her loving church family; and her dear cousin, Stella Cue.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Passionate First Born Church, 1708 Madison street, Palatka, Florida
