On the morning of Friday, October 3, 2025, Deacon William “Bubba” Hardy Jr., made his peaceful transition into God’s resting place. He was born on September 29, 1935, to William Hardy Sr. and Lillie Hightower Hardy in Federal Point, FL. He was baptized and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained a deacon there. He attended grade school at Federal Point Elementary and graduated from Central Academy High School in 1954. He farmed potatoes and cabbage on his land in Federal Point and was employed by Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill for 30 years before retiring.
On August 26, 1989, he married his beloved wife, Loretta Passmore and they celebrated 36 years together this past August.
His favorite past time was fishing with his fishing buddy Randy Hill, working in his yard and watching westerns on tv from his recliner.
He was the past president of the Barragan Tri-County Senior Citizen Organization, a member of the Council on Aging and the head deacon and trustee at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Federal Point.
He was presided in death by his parents, his five sisters, Gertie Love, Alice Arnold, Flora M. Brown, Annie Felder and Louvenia Hightower. Brother, Isaac Hightower and granddaughter Brittany Beauford.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Loretta Passmore Hardy, 4 daughters: Deborah H. Pelham, Hastings, FL, Flora H. Beauford and Pamela H. Brooks of Federal Point and Cynthia H. Allen of Jacksonville, FL;
6 sons: William Bernard Hardy, Federal Point, Gerald (Cristine) Hardy of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth Hardy of Hastings, Johnnie Holcy of Palatka, Lorenzo (Althea) Holcy of Houston, Texas, Marlon Hardy of Severn, Maryland. Sister: Janie (Charlie) Peppers, Lumberton, North Carolina. Sister-in-law, Victoria Foster of Palatka. 32 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special friends, fishing partner Randy Hill and Frances Moore.
God children: Michael Hamilton, Breacya “Pokie” Kinard and Monica Ruth Franklin.
Visitation 4-6p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 117 Hart Street in Federal Point
A Celebration of Life will be held 11a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025, at The Lord's Temple, 140 Gilmore Street in Hastings
Interment will be held in Federal Point Cemetery

Words cannot fully express the depth of our sympathy nor provide the comfort that only God can give.
