Willie James Harvey, Sr., 75, of Hastings, FL was born on October 30, 1950 in Charleston, SC. He was a man whose hardworking spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Willie was a skilled welder and mechanic who took great pride in his work. He had a remarkable ability to fix almost anything with his hands, and his dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic earned the respect of many throughout his life.
Outside of work, Willie found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman who treasured peaceful days by the water, always appreciating the beauty and tranquility that nature provided. Above all else, spending quality time with his family was his greatest priority. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or creating lasting memories, Willie believed that family was life's greatest blessing.
One of Willie's favorite pastimes was riding his lawn mower through the Great Potato Capital, where he was a familiar sight and a friendly face to many. Those rides reflected his appreciation for his community, the outdoors, and the life he built surrounded by the people he loved.
Willie leaves to mourn his many memories: loving and devoted wife, Alecia Harvey; children, Willatrice Harvey, Arlayceea Harvey, Willie Harvey Jr., Jasmine Harvey, and Derrick King; sister, Mary McCloud; grandchildren, Wilshonda Harvey, Shakevia Henderson, JaVonte Harvey, Darius King, and Jackson King; great grandchildren, Dariyona Morris and Leilani Granston; Goddaughters, Tammy Verdell and Shanee Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and sorrowing community.
The Harvey Family will receive extended family, friends, and the community from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Felix’s Coleman Memorial Chapel. The Homegoing Celebration will be at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at The Walter E. Harris Gym.
