Mr. Willie “Crow” Whitfield, 85, of Hastings, FL was born in Valdosta, Georgia on June 12, 1934 and was raised by his grandparents Jake and Dinah Whitfield in High Springs, Florida. He attended public schools in Alachua County. Willie worked on Capperilla Farms in Elkton, Florida. He was well known throughout Hastings and Palatka and lived in Merkerson Apartments for over 40 years.
Willie is preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Glorvine Whitfield; sons, Clarence and Willie Whitfield; mother, Armetta Whitfield; father, Jake Whitfield; Grand parents, Jake and Dinah Whitfield; brothers, Lonnie and Jake Whitfield.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory; children, Curtis (Donna) Whitfield, Armetta (Emanuel) Preston, Sammy (Elizabeth) Whitfield; Stepdaughter, Andrea (Johnny) Hamilton; and his sister Eloise Swanson; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandkids, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The viewing will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 at Coleman’s Mortuary Family Chapel. The Memorial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Armstrong.
