I loved and adored Mary more than words can ever express. She and I taught together first at Columbia Training School and then at East Marion Elementary. I always loved Mary's stylish hairdos and classy clothes. She was a One of a Kind Lady who was so loved by her students, her fellow teachers and the parents of her students. One thing Mary always did to make her students feel special was on their birthday and Christmas, she gave each student a silver dollar. To a 5th grader, those kids thought they had been given a $100. They treasured that silver dollar. I know this because Mary taught my own son in 5th grade and he received two silver dollars from her. What joy she gave him. Mary, I know you and Lance had the best reunion ever when you passed through those pearly gates. He was just like me and thought the world of you. To her family, Mary was so very loved by all who knew her. She never met a stranger and made every person in her presence feel like no one else in the world mattered but you. A special lady now resides with our Lord and Savior. You all are in my prayers.
Sending condolences to the family of Mary Abram.
