Mrs. Ella Ruth Lowery Harper journey began on this earth October 12, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Mary Douglas Lowery and Robert D. Lowery. Ella departed this earthly life August 17, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Ella Ruth was a very strong woman. Anyone who knew her probably would say she didn't mind telling what was on her mind. As a result, she was well respected, and was always shown unconditional love. Mrs. Ella loved her hats. No one could wear a hat like her. Mrs. Ella Ruth was a member of Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church, Gastonia, North Carolina. After meeting her husband, she joined him and became a member Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Ella was the last living sibling. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Wilson Harper, one sister; Mary Magaline Jackson, two brothers; Melvin Lowery and Robert Lowery.
Mrs. Ella Ruth leaves to cherish her loving memories her children: Randy Lowery of Atlanta, Georgia, Denise Church of Charlotte, North Carolina , Victoria Watson (Joe) of Decatur, Georgia, and Malinda Borders of Asheville, North Carolina, three grandchildren; La Tasha (Jernard), Latanya, Derrell (April), her great-great grandchildren, god-daughter; Victoria Goring (Trevor) a host of sisters-in-laws, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be at the funeral home Friday, August 21, 2020 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
