Fred or "Sarge" as he was called in the Swanks Club lived up to the name. Fred fought a good fight and had determination and tenacity in all he was involved in. Fred will be missed. Now his fight is over. God has carried "Sarge" home. Sincerely, Marcus and Cherie Richardson

To my extended family, I deepely feel the pain of Fred's Home going. For over fifty years we worked togerher and shared life experiences. Like you Clara, Steve and Tony. Fred will neve be forgotten because like Jesus, Fred lived within us forver. Howard Herring, Retired Army Sergeant Major
"Sarge" was bigger than life. If you entered a room and had conversations with 50 men, the one name you would remember would be Sarge. He met you with a big grin, a strong hand shake and a sincere interest to know you. Sarge had a great sense of humor and we loved playing jokes on each other. Once on a vacation with the Swanks, Fred was having some urinary problems. I suggested we go to a Pharmacy and get a urine test to see if his problem was an infection or something physical. A couple of the guys went with Fred and we found the test. The pharmacist gave Sarge directions and sent him to the bath room to get a urine sample. When Fred was gone, a talked to the pharmacist and asked her to help us play a joke on Fred. I told her what I wanted her to do and she laughed but agreed to do it. Fred came out with his sample and the pharmacist did what she needed to do. She then looked at Fred with a shocked expression and said. "Mr Lowery, I don't know how to tell you this, but you're pregnant"! Fred yelled, "I'm what"! We all fell out laughing. Fred was fine and we enjoyed the rest of our vacation. I'll miss you buddy. We had many great times. You were a great friend! I'll keep my memories of you until I see you again.
We will miss you Fred you were one of one "Sarge". A fighter for what you believed and anything that you belonged to -whether St Stephen's Swanks or the Lowery family -you put your heart in it. You gave your opinions freely and had particular taste whether it was your choice of food or your beloved coffee.
Our condolences to Clara Steve Tony and all the Lowery family.
