Obituary For Leroy Malker

Leroy was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on May 20, 1954, to the late Ernestine Boozier and Forrest Malker. Leroy departed this realm on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Leroy grew up in Dallas and Gastonia where he cultivated many life-long friendships, he attended C. F. Gingles and Dallas High Schools. Leroy loved cars. He could often be found cleaning and making sure his ride looked it’s best. He loved family and friends with a passion especially his children. Ron, Josh, and Mercedes he was very proud of all of you and loved you unconditionally. He was an avid basketball fan of both the UNC Tarheels and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Mervin Malker, Franklin Malker, Bobby Ray Wilson, and nephews Harrison Malker and Kendall Gardin.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Leron Malker, Gastonia, NC, Joshua Floyd, High Point, NC and daughter Mercedes Malker of Gastonia, NC; brothers, Harry (Gloria), Dallas, NC, Forrest, Charlotte, NC and Kenneth Malker; sisters, Patricia Paige, Kandy (Reggie Sellers) Malker, Charlotte, NC, Jacqueline (Charles) Sellers, MD, Janice Love, Valerie Malker, Belmont, NC, Kathy Maker, Robin Malker, and, Mary Catherine Brandon, Gastonia, NC and Leoratta Malker, Mount Holly, NC. Six grandchildren. Special cousin, Sheratta Malker and many other relatives and friends.
