Tribute to a genuine friend, Mo Ally "Friendships are like floodlights on a cricket field. They enjoy your success from the corner. But if they realize the sun's going down on you, they light themselves up to provide brightness around you." This view was recently expressed by former international cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, on Friendship Day. Tendulkar, a former captain of India's cricket team, is considered one of greatest batsmen in history. His quote, which was referenced in the introduction of this tribute, exemplifies the nature of the friendship shared between Mo and my husband, Abe Bailey. My name is Marilyn Bailey and I am writing this tribute on Abe's behalf, due to the fact that he is currently undergoing health challenges that prevent him from preparing a written tribute. For many years, prior to his retirement, my husband Abe provided legal services for Mo. They bonded over a shared love of golf as well as cricket. As a result, a strong friendship blossomed. Even though they were eventually separated by physical distance, Abe based in Florida and Mo in North Carolina, whenever Mo visited Florida, and when the opportunity presented itself, he and Abe would always find the time to play a round of golf. Mo was a consummate businessman with the ability to invest his time and talents in numerous successful ventures. In the early years, Abe as his counsel, was never far away providing much needed advice. Mo was intelligent, witty and very kind, but most importantly he was a dependable friend and Abe and I can personally attest to his kindness to us. Farewell dear Mo, may your "floodlights" shine as brightly in heaven as they did here on earth and may your soul rest in peace. To his wife, Deborah, son Stephen and extended family and friends, our sincere condolences are extended to you all. Abe and Marilyn Bailey and family. April 4, 2022

"Mo I will truly miss our monthly conversations. The advice you gave was priceless. I know some people come into our lives just for a season; but I wish it would have been longer. You brought smiles to our faces when you came to visit. Thanks for your kindness and friendship. I will cherish the time we had together love you always.........Venita Friday
Very sorry to hear of Mo's passing this week. Mo was an active man, a curious soul, a devoted spirtsman who enjoyed tennis and golf but loved and was intent on promoting Cricket, a good friend to his friends, a good businessman, a good husband and he enjoyed his adopted Gastonia community. God be with Mo and those dealing with his loss. Rest in Peace Mo.......J.W. Isenhour
Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Deborah and Family. Today we mourn, knowing that this loss is personal and profound and value our willingness to share this farewell and celebration of Moes Life. I will always remember his cheerful and invigorating presence. He had a spirit of resilience and with his funny sense of humor it made him unforgettable. He had a deep concern for human values and pursued life with almost a brightness of spirit. We enjoyed travelling with him on tours and I learned to appreciate his wisdom. He would always say to me "Griff you can never find success by being on the side lines. You have to be in the arena to influence issues." His kind words of encouragement have always been a source of comfort for me. Life brings tears, smiles and memories. The tears dry the smiles fades but the memories last forever. Rest in Peace my Friend until we reach again in Glory. Albert & Merlyn Griffith.
