Obituary For Rozellia Johnnie Anderson Mitchell

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, the Lord our God called his child home to Glory. Rozellia J. Mitchell completed her journey on this side of Glory to reunite with her loved ones who have gone on before her.

Rozellia J. Mitchell, the youngest of four children, was born April 8, 1934, in Filbert, South Carolina to the late Clifton and Louishers Anderson.

At an early age, she moved to North Carolina to live with her grandmother and grandfather. As a child, she attended Lincoln Academy High School located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, but completed her education at Adkins High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She met the love of her life, Hubert Mitchell, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After relocating to New Jersey, Hubert and Rozellia were united in marriage. Roz enrolled in Kree Institute in New York where she studied and received her Certification as an Electrologist. She was employed by Chloe Handler Associates, Inc. at the Atrium Medical-Dental Center, Cherry Hill, New Jersey as a Certified Electrologist. Roz took an earlier retirement in the nineties to return to North Carolina in the Crowders Mountain Area to take care of her mother until she was called home to be with the Lord.

Roz and Hubert became members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Clinton A. Feemster. Roz was happy to become a part of the ministries of the church. She was a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, Adult Choir, staff member of the Summer Youth Tutorial Program, Ladies Missionary Group, Ladies of Zion, Golden Hearts, and Shepherd’s Table. She was a faithful in attending Bible Study and supported all church activities.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee and Charlie Anderson, and a sister, Mattie Mae Wright Patton.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband of 68 years, Hubert Mitchell, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family and friends.

Roz’s Reflections “Miss me, yes! Let me Go! When I come to the end of my road and Sun has set for me, I am Free! No more Pain any More! Did not God say that he was Going to prepare a Place for Us? Where He is, We can be there also!”
