Mrs. Ann Amelia Johnson Brown was born on August 08, 1943 in Wadley, GA to the late Clarence Ernest Johnson, Jr and Alberta McBride Johnson.

Memorial Service, Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1064 Old Wadley, Road, Swainsboro, GA.

She attended and graduated from Jefferson County High School and attended Albany State College. Ann accepted a job offer in Brooklyn, New York where she met and fell in love with her fellow Georgian, Herbert Brown. As a young child, Ann always loved and dreamed of having a large family of her own. So their marriage was dedicated to raising 7 children with a foundation of unity, love and happiness. Their home was filled with laughter, music and dancing. Her loved one’s regarded her as a culinary master, an exceptional baker and a truly welcoming host. She knew no stranger and her door was open to all. Locally she was known as the beautician with the best press and curl in town. With a passion to help others, she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and was employed at Emanuel County Nursing home from which she retired. ​

Ann’s life took on new meaning in 1972. They relocated from NY to Wadley, GA. While at her parents home, a couple, Leon and Monica Manuel came to visit with a book that changed their lives. By means of a Bible discussions, she learned God’s name is Jehovah, his wonderful promises for the future and his love for all mankind. In 1974, along with her husband, she dedicated her life to serving Jehovah as one of his Witnesses, helping others to search for gems found in the Bible. She enjoyed privileges as a Regular Pioneer, Special Metropolitan Witnessing in Savannah, assisting the Regional Building Committee and many more.​

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Wayne and Sonny, her sister Barbara and her son Glenn McArthur Johnson Brown. ​

She is lovingly cherished by her husband of 62 years, Herbert Brown, Sr, her brother Clarence (Linda) Johnson of Charlotte, NC, her sons Herbert Brown, Jr of Atlanta, Jason Brown of Wadley, GA, her daughters Inez (Jeffrey) Thomas of Collins, GA, Monique (George) Williams of Savannah, GA, Denise (Philip) Germano of Reidsville, GA, Herberta “Cookie” Brown of Swainsboro, GA, her grandchildren, Ivan (Crystal) Brown of Vidalia, GA, George (Bryonna) Williams V of Savannah, GA, BreAnna Williams of Savannah, GA, Robert (Tiffany) Logan of Sacramento, CA, Anthony (Jasmine) Owens of Suwannee, GA, Vernechia “Muki” Williams of Atlanta, GA, Jordan Thomas of Orlando, FL, Wesley Thomas of Sylvania, GA, as well as a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and with special regards her Swainsboro and Louisville Congregations.​

Ann’s life proved she was spiritual, loved, treasured and valued by all. ​
