Mrs. Annie Jean Tolbert "Koot" Drayton Atkins was born June 13th 1950 to the late Warner Tolbert Sr and Asaleaner Styles Tolbert. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 2 00 P.M. at Blount Chapel Baptist Church, Vidette, GA. WITH MASK. Interment will be held in the Lone Star Cemetery, Louisville GA. Public viewing will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Annie Jean was a member of the Blount Chapel Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the choir and the Missionary. She was also affiliated with the Jones Grove Baptist Church and Cannan Galilee Baptist Church choirs in Louisville, GA and also attended Christian Believes Outreach Mission until her health failed. To know Annie Jean was to love her. There was never a dull moment when you were in her company. She loved to talk and was good at it. Annie Jean joined the Blount Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She attended the Jefferson County High School and was a 1970 graduate. She later pursued her education at Augusta Tech College, Augusta, GA and Augusta College where she graduated with a major in Early Childhood and was employed with the Burke County School System for several years. She was married to the late Johnny Drayton, Jr and to this marriage, two children were born, Jacqueline "Jackie" Drayton and Kimberly "Kim" Drayton. She was later united in marriage to the late Michael Atkins who expired February 28, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Jacqueline Drayton; siblings: Daisy M. Hitch, Willie James Tolbert, James "Skinner" Tolbert, John Styles, Ruth Butts and Catherine Jenkins. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter: Kimberly “Kim” Drayton, Wrens, GA; grandchildren: Cody Drayton, Wrens, GA, Cortney Drayton (Charles) Gibbons, Louisville, GA, Jakeria Brown, Wrens, GA, Angel Drayton, Augusta, GA, Asaleaner Drayton, Wrens, GA, Jaris (Cierra) Lane, Sr, Augusta, GA, Jamario Lane, Wadley, GA; Great grand Akeem Drayton, Trinity Gibbons, Charles Gibbons, Ar'Bella Gibbons, Louisville GA, Stevie Watkins Jr, Wrens GA, Jaris Lane Jr, Augusta GA, Jayden Lovett, Swainsboro GA, Jayvion Drayton, Louisville GA, Israel Oyster, Columbia, South Carolina, Kennedy Drayton, Wrens GA; siblings: Irene Jones, Chicago, Illinois, Ada McGee, Vidette, GA, Robert Lowery, Ft Lauderdale, FL, Warner (Lillie) Tolbert, Jr. , Waynesboro, GA, Richard A.
