Obituary For Anthony Lynn Worthen
Mr. Anthony Lynn Worthen was born on August 4, 1958, in Swainsboro, Georgia, to the late Nathaniel Bell and Helen Juanita Worthen. He made his transition from labor to reward on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
He joins his parents and sister, Dorothy Ann Worthen and brother-in-law, Terrell Tarver.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 5, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity CME Church, located at 58 E. Smith Street, Wadley, Georgia 30477. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Anthony joined the Trinity Baptist Church, Swainsboro, GA, at an early age, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to his faith. He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1977 and enjoyed a successful career as a supervisor at AYP Husquvarna. Anthony cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured. Later, he became a valued member of the Trinity CME family in Wadley. A passionate grill master, he loved sharing meals with loved ones and was an enthusiastic football and basketball fan.
Mr. Anthony Lynn Worthen is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Lisa Jackson Worthen of Wadley, Georgia; his children, Alyssa Jackson of Wadley, Nadia Worthen and Tamica Smith of Swainsboro, Bettia M. Jackson of Hephzibah, and Shakira S. Jackson of Wadley, as well as Mark Watson, Darrrian Worthen, and Derrell Jackson, all of Swainsboro, Georgia. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Annette Worthen, Wanda Bell, and Janice Maple (Tony), all of Swainsboro; his mother-in-law, Betty G. Seafus (Robert) of Louisville, Georgia; father-in-law, Robert Jackson Jr. of Wadley; uncle, Dannie Warthen of Swainsboro; sisters-in-law, Marcia N. Jackson of Hampton, Virginia, and Dedra J. Johnson of Wadley; and his cherished grandchildren, including Timothy Nelson Jr., Tahliah McGruder, Tobias Worthen, Tywan Boynton, Nydrez Worthen, Aquavious Hunter, Josiah Jackson, Braylen Blount, Aubrey Abdul-Rahman, Daevion McGruder, DaโRian Worthen, TaโKhari Mitchell, and SaโRiayah Mitchell. He is also survived by his nephew, Denzel Cheeks of Jacksonville, Florida, and niece, Aleah Davis of Savannah, Georgia; cousins and other relatives and friends.
Anthony's legacy of love, joy, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
