Barbara Ann Bostic was born on March 3, 1943, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, to the late Isaiah Bostic and Cora Graham. She dedicated her life to her family and community, and on Sunday, December 29, 2024, she transitioned peacefully from this life to eternal rest.
Barbara's career in the Jefferson County School System exemplified her commitment to education and the well-being of her students. Her passion for nurturing young minds was evident until health challenges necessitated her retirement.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Barbara had a flair for creativity. She was known in her neighborhood as a talented cosmetologist and enjoyed bringing joy to others through her hairstyling and baking skills. Her warm spirit and artistic touch made her a beloved figure in her community.
Barbara was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, with her kindness and generosity leaving a lasting impact on many lives. She fostered connections that transcended distance, bringing friends and family together with her loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her two beloved sons, Clarence Bostic and Thomas “Tom Cat” Bostic, as well as her sisters Inez Atwell and Ida Lee Brown, and her brothers Carlton Bostic, Milton Bostic, Freddie Bostic, and Isiah Bostic. Their memories remain alive in the hearts of those who loved them.
Barbara leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her surviving son, Stanley (Adrienne) Bostic, along with three adoring grandchildren: StanKelia Bostic, Chanzley Brown, and Mia Bostic. She also had the joy of witnessing the birth of two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends, all of whom continue to honor her memory.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at James and Virginia Davis Chapel, 727 Beech Street, Louisville, GA 30434
Public viewing will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
