Mr. Ben Tarver, born on September 21, 1941, in Wadley, Georgia to the late Eddie Willie and Lula Mae Foley Tarver, peacefully passed away on April 1, 2024, at Augusta University Hospital.
To honor his memory, Celebration of Life Service will be private.
Ben was a dedicated individual who pursued his education in Wadley. He attended the Pineola Church of God in Wadley, GA, and later became a faithful member of the Victory Temple Church in Swainsboro, GA. Ben's professional journey began at Grain Continental, where he dedicated six years of service. He continued his career at Fulghum Fibers in Sandersville, GA, where he worked for 13 years until his retirement in 2003. Outside of work, Ben enjoyed fishing, hunting - particularly coon hunting with his loyal companions (his hunting dogs: Jeff and Pat), horseback riding, and traveling in his youth.
Ben is preceded in death by one daughter Yvonne Williams, and by his siblings, Willie Tarver, Freddie Tarver, Eddie Tarver Jr., Barbara Bowers, Essie Thomas, and Janette Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lula Bargin Tarver; daughter Patricia (Henry) Smith Williams; Wadley, GA; grandchildren: Henry (Keili) Smith II, Atlanta, GA, Christopher Smith, Wadley, GA, Terry Williams Jr, Louisville, GA; Angel Williams Taylor, Midville, GA; his siblings Katie McGhee, N.Y., Betty (Earl) Seabrooks, Savanna, GA Elizabeth (Robert) Heggs, Augusta, GA, Curtis (Dianne) Tarver, Wadley, GA; sisters-in-law: Florence Tarver and Juanita Tarver, Wadley GA; 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, Georgia, is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Ben Tarver.
