Obituary For Bernice Wells Fields
Mrs. Bernice Wells Fields transitioned from this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories. She was born in the Grange Community and was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Robert Lee Wells and Mrs. Vallie Will Wells.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the New Hope AME Church located at 11960 Highway 171 N., Louisville, Georgia, and interment will follow at the church cemetery.
At an early age, Bernice accepted Christ and joined New Hope AME Church, where she developed a strong spiritual foundation that remained with her throughout her life. Her faith guided her journey, even as she traveled extensively as the devoted wife of an active-duty United States Air Force serviceman. Through military life, she had the opportunity to reside in various locations, including the Philippines and several states across the United States.
Bernice received her early education at Glascock County Training School after relocating there with her family. She later continued her education in the Jefferson County School System, graduating from Louisville High School in the Class of 1969.
She was united in marriage and faithfully supported her husband throughout his military career. Professionally, Bernice served as a dedicated Logistics Coordinator, contributing her expertise to several distinguished organizations, including Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Northrop Grumman, and Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Bernice will be remembered for her warm and caring spirit, her love for people, and the special joy she found in family gatherings. Her life was a reflection of kindness, strength, and unwavering love. Though dementia brought changes in her later years, it never diminished the gentle spirit and compassion that defined her life.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters, Ms. Chrishun Hill of Winter Garden, Florida, and Ms. Latosha Fields of Warner Robins, Georgia; her niece, Ms. Bessie Wells of Louisville, Georgia; her nephew, Mr. Willie Lewis Wells of Sandersville, Georgia; great-niece and nephews, Terry Lynch, Louisville, GA, Shamiya Carswell, Statesboro, GA, and Prenstyn Wells, Sandersville, GA.
She will also be deeply missed by her cousins, extended family, and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Bernice was a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit. Her home was always open to us. She was loving, warm, friendly, giving, and kind. She raised to beautiful girls, who because of their mother's nurturing guidance became women of purpose and pillars of their community. They are the great legacy that Bernice leaves. I met Bernice in Warner Robins, GA through our homebuilder, attended the same church (Fellowship Bible Baptist Church), and discovered that a family I knew were her cousins (the Heggs family). Bernice was a quiet, friendly, respectful, and sweet person. I am sending prayers of sympathy & comfort to her family.
