Mrs. Betty Jean Gamble Heggs, 71, 112 James Circle, Davisboro, GA departed this life Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday August 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at New Fleming Baptist Church and cemetery, Bartow, GA. Mrs. Heggs was a native of Jefferson County, born to the parentage of the late Willie “July” Gamble and Idella Coppett Gamble. She was a faithful member of the New Fleming Baptist church where she served as an usher until her health failed. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She is preceded in death by two children, Kent Heggs and Francine Heggs and four siblings, Mary Frances Middleton, Leroy Gamble, Willie Gamble and Clarence Gamble. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, Henry Lee “Jap” Heggs, Jr., Davisboro, GA; her children, Henry Lee (Delores Wade) Heggs, III, Maryland, Sandra Heggs and Barbara Heggs, Davisboro, GA; sister, Emma Gamble Bridges, Davisboro, GA; her daughter-in-law, Regina Wright, Sandersville, GA; sister-in-law, Lula Gamble, Louisville, GA; brother-in-law, William “Bill” Middleton, Louisville, GA; a very devoted friend, Susie Bell Brinson, Davisboro, GA; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
