Obituary For Corine Dixon Brown
Mrs. Corine Brown was born on July 14, 1933, to the cherished parents, Robert and Cora Kelly Dixon, in the vibrant town of Louisville, Georgia. Throughout her life, she embraced the warmth and spirit of her hometown, contributing to the community in countless ways.
As a dedicated member of the Louisville community, Mrs. Brown formed lasting friendships and built connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her kindness and compassion were evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
At a very early age she joined the Woodlawn Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She later joined the Christian family at the St. Paul Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board and attended faithfully until her health failed.
Corine sent many of her days at Deliah Manufacturing Company doing her very best until her retirement. She was known for over 30 years to many in the community as “My POKENO club member”. She dearly loved the game.
In her later years, Mrs. Brown transitioned to Old Capital - Pruitt Health, where she continued to inspire and be inspired. Her presence was a source of joy for many, and she was surrounded by love and admiration from both residents and staff alike.
She is lovingly remembered by her family and friends, having been preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Seaphus, Hosea, Lonzi P. Leroy, Harvey Sr., Tom Dixon, and sisters Carrie Lou and Louie Mae, as well as her cherished daughter, Irene Yussif.
She is survived by her devoted son, Richard Lee Washington, her granddaughter, Charneita Brown, a sister-in-law, Ann P. Dixon, and a wonderful group of nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy. Her spirit and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She made her transition on January 3, 2025 at a local nursing facility.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Paul Baptist Church, 604 W Broad Street, Louisville, Georgia.
Interment will be held in the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery, Middleground Road, Louisville, GA
Public Viewing will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
Davis Funeral Home of 725 Beech Street Louisville is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Corine Brown.

Aunt Corine was one of a kind. She was a strong Black woman who made sure her voice was heard and she gave respect when respect was given. She never backed down from challenges. She always stood up for her self. She taught me how it looked to have courage and the will power to do what you needed to do to survive. She would always let us know she would "tell us about ourselves" whenever we thought we wanted to get out of line. I had a respectful fear for Aunt Corine because I knew she didn't take no mess. She always had to have "the latest car, latest dress, the latest TV, the latest house appliance, you name it. If she wanted it and it was the "latest" she always got "the latest". I love you Aunt Corine and will certainly miss you. I know when you get home you will see Grandpa, Grandma, Momma, All of your brothers and sisters and let them know how you held it down for the Dixon family. You will always be remembered as an opinionated, fun loving, strong resilient lady. Like you used to always say at our love ones home going services, "I love you but God love you best".
Well Aunt Corine I'm really gonna miss your friendship and sense of humor and you telling it like it is,these last yrs we've spent together has been a Blessing, you truly helped me fill some of the void from missing my momma so much.I'll cherish those moments forever, you lived by your own rules. Until we see each other again I pray I can live a long life like you did. S.I.P love you❣️
