Roy Green was born in Jefferson County Georgia, December 25, 1949 to the late Georgie Dell Green.
Deacon Roy Green made his transition from labor to reward on Sunday, August 11, 2024 after an auto accident.
The public viewing will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spears Grove Baptist Church located at 4250 Coleman Chapel Road, Wadley, Georgia 30477.
Interment will be held at the Spears Grove Baptist.
At an early age Roy joined the Spears Grove Baptist Church. On February 8th, 2009 he was ordained as a deacon and served faithfully on the finance committee where he served up to the very last day. Faithful was he!
Mr. Roy Green had a fulfilling career at J.A. Long Road Construction. Known for his passion for wrestling and westerns, he enjoyed spending his leisure time watching these genres. In retirement, Roy found great joy in gardening, nurturing a variety of fruits and vegetables, and generously sharing his harvest with family and friends. His legacy is one of dedication, joy, and a love for the simple pleasures in life.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Dell Green, and Siblings Polly, Riggins, Gale Green and Larry Green.
He is lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 40 years, Annie Ruth Mack Green; his children: Mary Ann Green, Cynthia Green, Susie Ann (Carlton) Anderson, Elizabeth Green, Tyron (Tanekqueia) Green, Rosezinnie (Melvin) Tartt, Bobbie Davis (Frank Brown), Anthony (Cheryl) Williams, and LaTasha (Andre) Hudson. He is also survived by his cherished siblings: Betty Williams, Faye (Stanley) May, Bobby Green, Lucille Green, Lester (Katie) Green, Joyce G. Johnson, Willie Lester (Bessie) Danford, Otis Danford, and Ollie Byrd.
Mr. Green's legacy continues through his grandchildren, who include Mariah Hill, LaShonda Hill, Lonnie Hill Jr., Bruce Curry, LaPrincia Curry, Roderic Gamble Jr., Carmela Anderson, Carlton Anderson III, Tanijiah Green, TyJahnee Green, Taylor Green, Larry Tarver Jr., Delonte Tarver, Jamar Tarver, Mykail Davis, Daylin Brown, Destiny Williams, Devin Williams, Nolan Williams, Malik Hudson, and Amiya Hudson, as well as Ashton Hudson.
He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Micleal (Alicia) Williams, Willie (Brenda) Kemp, Walter Mack, James (Connie) Mack, Willie Taylor Mack, Christine Hall, Mozell Edwards, Lillie Bell Brown, Annie L. Cook, Betty Jean Manning, Ethel Mack, Vera Mack, Bonita Green, and a remarkable 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Green's life touched many, and he leaves behind a host of family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory.
Davis Funeral Home of 725 Beech Street Louisville is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Roy Green.
