Mr. Derrick Deleon Robinson, 49, of Thomson, Georgia, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Pierce Grove Baptist Church located at 3673 Bostic Mill Road, Bartow, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Pierce Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home, Louisville, GA.
Family visitation will be held Thursday and Friday at 1193 Bryant Drive, Louisville, GA from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.
Mr. Robinson was born on July 24, 1975, to Barbara Rasheed and Freddie Lee Gross. He was a member of the Pierce Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and a Jr. Deacon for Snowden #216 of Bartow, Georgia. Mr. Robinson was educated in the Jefferson County School System. He was employed with Schneider's National Trucking Company for 19 years and was awarded a one-million-mile safety award. Mr. Robinson enjoyed laughter, joking, and caring for others. He was a die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons football team. During his spare time, he loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Robinson's cheerful spirit profoundly enriched the lives of those around him. He inspired everyone to embrace faith, love, and support for one another. His legacy will be cherished by his devoted parents, Barbara Rasheed and Freddie Lee Gross of Wadley, Georgia.
He is also remembered by his beloved grandmother, Dorothy Robinson Williams of Wadley, Georgia; his children, Haley Robinson and Alana Robinson of Thomson, Georgia; and his siblings, Claudia (Omar) Robinson of Savannah, Georgia, and Frederick Robinson of Wadley, Georgia. He also leaves behind half-siblings Dret Carswell of Crossing Green Community, Shakelia Abraham of Augusta, Georgia, Nikki and Nick Kitchens, Louisville, Georgia, and Tacarra Wright of Boston, Massachusetts.
Mr. Robinson's extended family includes aunts Evelyn Williams, Amanda Robinson, Leona Williams Martin, Betty Jean Williams, and Linda Williams Johnson, all from Wadley, Georgia; Cathay Williams Jackson of Tennille, Georgia; Diane Heggs of Wadley, Georgia; Edith (Paul) Washington of Louisville, Georgia; and Ella Mae Poitier of Deerfield Beach, Florida. His uncles, Willie Roger Williams of Wadley, Georgia, and Charles Williams of Boston, Massachusetts, also mourn his passing.
He is survived by his best friend and cousin, Arnandez Walker of Louisville, Georgia, along with many of his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
