Obituary For Donald Lee Adams

Donald Lee Adams was born on July 16, 1953, to the late John Quincy Adams and Ola Mae Lovett Adams. On September 26, 2026, he entered into eternal rest at Bullock County Hospital in Union Springs, Georgia. Donald lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to his family, generosity toward others, and a genuine love for enjoying life.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at the James and Virginia Davis Chapel, located at 727 Beech Street, Louisville, Georgia 30434. Interment will follow at Green Cemetery in the Crossing and Green Community. Public viewing will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Donald was a hardworking man who spent many years working as a truck driver before retiring. Throughout his life, he called several places home, including Wadley, Georgia, where he lived for 33 years, as well as Midway, Alabama, and Columbus, Georgia.

His foundation of faith began during his childhood at Spears Grove Baptist Church. As an adult, he attended Haynes Hill Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama.

During his younger years, Donald was an outstanding football player and proudly played defensive end for the Wadley High Wildcats. His strength and dedication extended far beyond the football field. He was a faithful husband, devoted father, hardworking provider, and a man who found great joy in helping others.

Donald had a lively spirit and knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Some of his greatest joys included dancing and listening to old-school music. He will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand, his love for his family, his hardworking nature, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ola Mae Lovett Adams and John Quincy Adams; his brothers, Johnnie Gene Adams and John Adams Jr.; and his sisters, Vivian Adams Kemp and Carolyn Adams Woods.

Donald leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Annie Jordan Adams; his sons, Kelvin Adams of Phenix City, Alabama, Troy (Lakisha) Adams of Evans, Georgia, Sherman (Chantelle) Adams of Columbus, Georgia, and Travaris Adams of Asheville, North Carolina; his daughter, Lashawnda Adams of Phenix City, Alabama; his bonus sons, Toby (Shiketheia) Jordan of Phenix City, Alabama, Carlos (Tracy) Beiton of McDonough, Georgia, Vanterrana Watkins of Douglasville, Georgia, and Kenyatta (Nickii) Watkins of Auburn, Alabama; and his bonus daughters, Carolyn (Travis) Smith, Cortena Kennedy of Decatur, Georgia, and Nikatta Watkins of Auburn, Alabama.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Roy Adams of Augusta, Georgia, and Johnny Lee Adams of Wadley, Georgia; four godchildren, Quinnon Wiggins, Ashawn Wiggins, Deja “Dewop” Jones, and Stephanie Gibson; nine grandchildren: Keltravious Jones, Troy Adams Jr., Donta Adams, Tyrese Adams, Hezeki Adams, Carmen Ray, Layla Adams, Londyn Adams, Zykeria Adams; a devoted son, Derick Powell; a devoted daughter, Tamieka Perry; a devoted longtime friend and mother of his children, Almaree Swint; devoted friends Rezel Foston, “Bo Peep,” and Freeman Banks; a devoted niece, Betty Woods; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
