Obituary For Edward "Ed" Willie Bennett

Deacon Edward Bennett was born December 10, 1945 in Wadley, GA to the parentage of the late Bishop and Viola McIntosh Bennett.

He made his transition from labor to reward on June 12, 2023 at an Augusta Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at San Clair Baptist Church and Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.

At an early age Edward joined the San Clair Baptist Church. He attended and graduated from the public schools in Wadley, GA. After his graduation he moved to New York in 1964. He started working at General Motors where he retired in 1996 after 30 years of service.

On May 24, 1984 he married the apple of his eye, the former Willie Mae Moore and they later moved to Jacksonville, FL. In 1995

In 2014 he returned to his roots in Jefferson County, GA. and reunited with the San Clair Baptist Church where he served faithfully and was an Ordained Deacon.

To his family he was the was the most handsome, coolest and loving person anyone could ever know. He always loved to laugh wore an awesome smile was a beautiful person inside and out.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of thirty-eight years: Willie Mae Moore Bennett, Louisville, GA; His sons and daughter-in-law: Edward "JJ" (wife, Tracie) Bennett , Long Island, N.Y. and Marlin Christopher Bennett, Ohio; his daughters: Bridgett Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Nicole Bennett, Jacksonville, FL and Nissa (Frank) Beasley, Ohio; two stepsons that he reared as his very own: Roman Moore and Deon Moore, Jacksonville, FL; his siblings: Johnnie (Eunice) Bennett, N.C., Vallie Mae Danford and Annette (Willie) Henry, Wadley, GA, Christine ( Verlene) Thompson, Meriden, Conn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vance and Lillie Grey, Minnie Williams Cuyler, Louisville, GA, Eddie and Anita Williams, Harrison, GA, Scott Lewis, Wadley, GAWilbert Williams, Waynesboro, GA; seven grandchildren, one devoted niece: Sherry Darisaw, Augusta, GA along with several other nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.;
