A faithful servant of God, Elder Helen Elizabeth Floyd Wayman was born in Jefferson County, GA, and departed this earthly life on January 12, 2021, Rockdale County, Georgia. Churchyard services will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Pierce Grove Baptist Church yard. Burial will be held Thursday at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, S.C. Born to the late Mary Hall Floyd and Emmanuel Floyd, Helen grew up in Wadley, Georgia, graduating from Jefferson County High School in 1968. Furthering her education, she attended cosmetology school, obtaining her license. She then relocated to New York City, where she worked at the New York Telephone Company for over twenty years, until her retirement. She met and married her love in 1970, the late Sanbreal Emery Wayman, who transitioned January 5, 2019. They were united in holy matrimony for 48 years, resulting in four children, including Christopher John who preceded them in death. Also preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two siblings, Gail and Archie Floyd. An ambassador for the Lord, Elder Wayman began her Christian journey at Pierce Grove Church, Bartow, Georgia. In New York until her demise, she was affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, where she held many positions/titles. Upon retirement, she and her family moved to Screven County, Georgia, and then to Rockdale County, residing in Conyers. She was the co-founder of Calvary Gospel and Deliverance Pentecostal Church in Wrens, Georgia. She labored ceaselessly for her family, church, and God. To cherish her memories forever are three children: Sanbreal Patrick of Durham, N.C.; Tiffany of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Elizabeth of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren (four reared as her own): Sanbreal C. (Little Chris), Jeremiah Shane, Christon John, Caleb Joseph, William Anthony, and Kristoffer Lee; her brother, Donnie (Lolita) Floyd of Bronx, N.Y.; one aunt, Maggie Knowles of Hollywood, FL; one uncle, Paul Floyd of St. Augustine, FL; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Veronica Hutchinson of Tennessee, Victoria Ousley and Juliet Wayman of New York, and Theodore Wayman of Charleston, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
