Obituary For Geneva Kendrick

Geneva Smith Kendrick, born April 30, 1957 in Louisville, GA, was born to the late Johnnie Mae Jackson and the late Johnny Lee Smith. She gained her heavenly wings on Saturday March 25, 2023 at her home in Morrow, GA after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 at the Brinson Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Friday. March 31, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.

She proceeds in death her parents and her husband Curtis Kendrick.

At an early age, Geneva was a member of the Brinson Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a choir member. She relocated to Atlanta, GA but loved her church.

“Big Tina” as she was lovingly known, was a homemaker and lived in Wadley, GA for most of her life before relocating to the Atlanta area. She always showed love and kindness to everyone. She made sure her loved ones had some place to live and something to eat. Her favorite meal to cook was fried chicken, collard greens, Macaroni and cheese and red velvet cake. “Big Tina” was the family member who reached out and kept in touch with all her family and friends. She was loved by many.

She will be deeply missed by her loving son, Demain Smith of Atlanta, GA; daughter Toni (Quincy) Woods of Atlanta, GA; grandson she raised as her own Travis Smith of Atlanta, GA; two sisters: Ms. Dorothy Jackson of Wadley, GA and Ms. Johnnie Mae Frazier of Wadley, Ga; brother: Patrick Grier of Jacksonville, FL; a special friend David Johnson of Atlanta, GA; a god son Terelle Williams; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
