Irene Ruth Campbell was born on November 25, 1949, to the late Ciaphus and Deloris Tillman. Irene gained her wings on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital after an extended illness.
Public viewing will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:00 A. M. at Second Antioch Baptist Church, 5468 Story Mill Road, Keysville, GA. Interment will be held at Second Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denis Campbell; her brother Gwan Tillman and her sister Doris Woodall.
At an early age, Irene accepted Christ as her Savior after moving to Waynesboro, GA, she joined 2nd Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville, GA.
Irene was educated in the Richmond County School system. She was gainfully employed by Forstmann & Co. for 20 years until she retired in 1998. Irene also transported people back and forth to doctor appointments and made many friends she called family alone the way.
Irene leaves to cherish her dearest memories her seven children; Bennie (Arthur) Moody; Arlene Wallace; Theodora Funchess; Ciaphus Rouse; Ayanna Johnson; Serena Chance; and Jonathan Warthen. Two bonus children Ernestine Matthews and David (Linda) Warthen. 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grands; and 3 great-great grands. Irene also leaves behind her beloved brother Andrew (Connie) Tillman and sister Elise (Bill) Peasant; three sisters-in-law, Diane Campbell; Loretta (Mitch) Beal; and Rena Holden along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Irene Ruth Tillman Campbell.
