Jerome (Gee) Anthony Johnson, 68, of Wadley, Georgia, stepped from time to eternity on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Augusta, Georgia.
Jerome was born March 12,1957 to the parentage of the late Lula Mae Johnson and Robert G. Kelly. He was the 3rd child of 12 children, born to this union in Wadley, GA. In 1976, Jerome graduated from Wadley High School. Jerome worked at Lewis Steele in Wrens, GA as a welder, for a total of 20 years. He also worked at Thermo King, Cooper Machine Shop, and Fleetguard as a welder for 16 additional years. Altogether, Jerome mastered his welding career for a total of 36 years.
Jerome had a loving and kind spirit. He was well known for his humble, mild, and calm demeanor. To know him, was to love him. Those dearest to him called him Gee. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed being around his children, family, and friends. He had a general respect for everyone he encountered and respect was always given in return.
Jerome was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and impeccable style. From the moment he could purchase his own clothes, he dressed up in tailored suits, sharp ties, and his favorite Stacy Addams. He enjoyed nice things.
Jerome had a sharp mind. He could effortlessly recall facts, birthdates and other personal stories, which brought laughter, wisdom, and connection to those who knew him. He never forgot a face and had a compassion for young people.
Jerome joins his parents, Lula Mae Johnson and Robert Kelly Sr., his brothers, Robert Kelly Jr., John Kelly Sr., Stephen Johnson, and Ronnie Dickerson and his sisters, Rhonda Johnson, Stacy Johnson, Wanda Jean Johnson, and Loretta Kelly in eternal rest.
Jerome’s love and legacy will be cherished and preserved by his children: Angela Washington of Wadley, GA, Anthony Washington of Bartow, GA, and Andrew Greg (Latresia) Hunter of Wadley, GA, Daryl Walden of Atlanta, GA, and Jerome Johnson of Wrens, GA.; his grandchildren: Verlon Lodge Jr., Iesha Lodge, Zanquisha (Wayne) Darisaw, Antshavious Washington, Genesis Washington, Paris Washington, Alexis Washington, Anthony Washington Jr., Gregory Hunter, Gabriel Hunter, Gabrien Hunter, Ga’Braylon Hunter, Gabrion Hunter, Quintavious Goodon, Ja’ana Gooden, Ladaisha Gooden, Jamarshia Atkins, Jayce Johnson, Chelsa Drayton, Da’Kylon Hill, and 18 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Sophia Johnson, Kim (Sam) Umoh, Nolen (Torey) McCall, Shannon (James) Carey, Rosanne Pryor, Lois (Leroy) Cordes, Olivia (Lee) Caldwell, Ora (George) Boatwright, Laura Smith; his brothers: James (Tina) Dickerson Sr., Michael Kelly, Earl (Lindy) Johnson, Dwayne (Kerri) Johnson, Ronnie (Sparkle) Fields, Dennis (Eloise) Kelly Sr., David (Vivian) Kelly Sr., Patrick (Marissa) Kelly), his sister - in - law, Mary D. Kelly; his godbrothers: Edward Kellum, Elton Britton; his aunts Rev. Nolan J.
