Mrs. Jessie Cunningham Mack, A servant of God, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and loving caring friend, Deaconess and Trustee Jessie Mae Cunningham Mack departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Medical Center Navicent Health Hospital, Macon, Georgia. She was born in Laurens County, South Carolina, on July 17, 1939, daughter of Hillry Cunningham, Sr. and Bessie Ruth Stephens Cunningham. Jessie’s employment history included: Teacher of Elementary Education at Tender Grove Elementary School, Georgia and she shared her love for students in the Jefferson County School System as a dedicated Teacher of Mathematics for forty years. Confessing her faith in Jesus Christ, Jessie became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Chester, South Carolina, where she served faithfully until relocating to Louisville, Georgia. There she joined and became a faithful member of the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Trustee, Deaconess, and past sponsor of the Youth Department. She was united in marriage to the late Johnnie James Mack. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Lee Cunningham, Sr. We all have known whose very presence conveys cheerfulness. They can enter a room without speaking a word, yet the outpouring of their good spirit is so powerful that everyone present feels gladdened and uplifted. This is because they are centered in God’s love and joy. Her cheerfulness blessed our lives. She encouraged all to have faith, love, hope and confidence in God just by her smile. Her legacy will forever be remembered, lived, and loved by her family who will greatly miss her: her stepson; Wayne ( Min. Annie Bell) Habersham, Augusta, Georgia, stepdaughter, Linda Bevins Byrd, St. Petersburg, Florida, sisters; Mamie (Rev.Bill) Stringfellow, Chester, South Carolina, Barbara(Isaiah)Thomas, Louisville, Georgia, Lorene Cunningham, Chester, South Carolina, Maxine(Ronald)Sewell, Columbia, South Carolina, and Lois C. Cunningham, Columbia, South Carolina, one brother Hillry Cunningham, Jr. Chester, South Carolina, sisters-in law; Cecil Cunningham, Chester, South Carolina, Ruby Kate Johnson, and Annie Laura Mack, both of St. Petersburg, Florida, grandchildren; Tracy, Tyson, and Trinity Knight, Louisville, Georgia, Thomas Knight, Kennesaw Georgia, Felicia Thomas and Keion Taylor both of Atlanta Georgia, Avery Bevins, St. Petersburg, Florida, Godchildren: Kathy (Jimmie) Wiley, Louisville, Georgia, Lee Hannah, Suwanee, Georgia, Orienthal Andre Hannah, Jonesboro, Georgia, ArDinia Boatwright, Warner Robins, Georgia, Alton Spells and William Spells, both of Atlanta Georgia, and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Private Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 4th. Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Jessie “Bill” Cunningham Mack.
