Obituary For Joseph Louis Chaney Jr

It was God’s infinite wisdom to bless Joseph Sr. and Rebecca Knight of Cat Island, Bahamas on March 22, 1956 with a son named Joseph Louis Chaney Jr. Joseph shared his parents with siblings, Hattie-Mae, Rita, Betty, Angela, Durell (Manuel), Angel, also Pamela and Albert who proceeded him in home going.

As a young adult Joseph attended Miami Job Corp, and received his Associate Degree in Finance from Miami-Dade Community College.

Joseph accepted the Lord as his Savior in his early years of life and most recently in 2025. He attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

Joseph lived most of his life in Miami-Dade, FL until his son Antaun relocated him to Augusta, Ga where he would spend his last three years of life.

At the age of 69, surrounded by his son Antaun (Marketa) and Grandson’s, Joseph was called home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025.

Joseph leaves a legacy of Love, Strength, Courage and a great sense of humor and sweet memories to forever be cherished by his family and friends. Joseph is survived by his sisters, Hattie-Mae, Rita, Betty, Angela and Durell(Manuel), Angel. His sons Antaun (Marketa) and Joseph III. His daughters Quanika, Tammy(Hubert), Marilyn(Nathen), Margaret(Tee), Martha(Jerry), Keisha(Kenny). Also, his son and daughter Anthony and Crystal who proceeded him in home going. Grandchildren: Dj, Landon, Antaun Jr, Liam, Kamau, Koa, Gakari Murray who proceeded him in home going. Joseph IIII(Lil JoJo), Malachi, Jaire Isaac, Joshua, Addison, Rashard, Kamareen, Jaden, and Weeden, Jovonate who also proceeded him in home going. Jamiyah, Kejuan, Naomi, Aneveah, Messias, Attearon, Te’a. A host of nieces and nephews, Elvira, Jamara (Duane), Aaron(Tasha), Andre, Gene, Tammy, Toshika (Kelsey), Phonia (Tony), Steven, Nicki, KayKay, Jeremiah, Tatianna, Devaroe, Monique(James), Poppy, Keisha, Dwight, Nakia, Nikia, Chris, Smurf, and many more relatives and sorrowing friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Davis Funeral Home, James and Virginia Davis Chapel, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA.
