Despite life’s many trials, Kasey embodied resilience and grace which is a true reflection of 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Kasey began her spiritual journey at Pierce Grove Baptist Church and later worshipped with Gordon Grove and New Exodus Baptist Churches. A proud 1995 graduate of Louisville High School, she furthered her education and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice. She served as a Correctional Officer with the state of Georgia prison system for many years. Furthermore, Kasey pursued her passion in healthcare as a phlebotomist at Clinical Laboratory Services in Augusta, GA.
On October 15, 2022, she was united in marriage to Willie Baldwin Jr., a union grounded in love and strength. Kasey was known for her love of beauty—her hair and nails were her signature. Her delight for music and family updates made her the heartbeat of many gatherings. She also loved sunflowers, a symbol of the happiness, vitality, and positivity she brought into every space. Her favorite saying was “Won’t He Do It,” and her joy after hearing a good sermon was infectious: “Pastor Berry know he preached today!” Even in her final days, Kasey’s compassion illuminated. She was a light to hospital staff and fellow patients, never ceasing to show gratitude and care for others.

Met Kasey in 2013 when I moved to Augusta. She was my only friend from work. We were very close and spent a lot of time off work. I thank God for Kasey. I moved away but still kept in touch. Stopped by a year ago sat and prayed. Called her and prayed for her a few weeks ago. I am blessed to have met her. May she rest in heavenly peace. My condolences and prayers are with the family.
