Mr. Leroy "Roy" Dixon, born on September 30, 1942, in Wrens, Georgia, to the late Lee Edward Dixon and Mary Lizzie Farmer, peacefully passed away on April 10, 2024.
Public viewing will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will be held at the James and Virginia Davis Chapel located at 725 Beech Street, Louisville, Georgia 30434, on April 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Minister Rose Burley officiating. The Interment will be held at the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery, 10930 Middleground Road, Louisville, Georgia 30434.
Leroy, a resident of West Palm Beach for six decades, retired in. He was a dedicated employee at the Celestine Corporation, where he invested 20 years of his life before his retirement in 2007. He returned to Wrens, Georgia and pursued his retirement interests which included barbecuing, hunting wild game, and finding solace in relaxation. Leroy's spiritual journey began at a young age when he became a member of Spring Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Leroy Dixon leaves behind his beloved wife, Pamela Glassby Dixon, whom he married on September 24, 2011. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, who were a significant part of his life: Constance (James) Calloway and Shelie (James) Creary of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Debra Edward of Covington, Georgia; Rolydia Dixon of Perry, Florida; Chelsea Sealy and Karla Sealy of Rivera Beach, Florida; Charlotte (Sam) Washington of Valdosta, Georgia; Reginal (Lisa) Pickens of Wrens, Georgia; and Larry (Lynn) Palmer of Augusta, GA. Leroy's memory is cherished by his mother-in-law, Albertha Glassby of Orlando, Florida; his siblings - Charlie Dixon, Louise Neely, and Eunice Hudson, all of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Louise Wilson and Rose Burley, both of Wrens, Georgia; as well as his sisters-in-law - Kasandra Moore of West Palm Beach, Florida; Lucinda Walker of Wrens, Georgia; and Louron Dixon, Dania,Florida; a goddaughter: Monica Smith, Wrens, GA; Additionally, he is survived by twelve grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.
Active Pallbearers will be John Patterson, Eddie Burley, Myrshan Scott, Eddie Dixon, Tylik Patterson and Tony Dixon.
Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Leroy “Roy” Dixon.
