Obituary For Lester Earl Williams

Lester Earl Williams, 85, departed this life June 15, 2022 at an Augusta Hospital. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at James and Virginia Davis Chapel. Mr. Williams was a native of Mississippi born to the parentage of the late Joe and Issabell Crumple Williams. He moved to Georgia many years ago and was a mechanic at L & B Motors. He is preceded in death by one son, Bacchus Hammonds. Survivors includes his companion of 38 years, Evelyn Williams; daughter, Patricia Abney; stepchildren, Harry Hammonds, Bernard Hammonds, Joel Hammonds, Keith Hammonds, Larry Pritchard, Angela Bonner, Cornelius Williams and Emory Williams; his guardian and granddaughter, Yshica Williams. Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, In charge of arrangements for Mr. Lester Earl Williams.

I would spend my summers with Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Lester. Uncle Lester has always been hard working, compassionate, a protector and an amazing partner to our Aunt, and for that and much more, we loved him. He will truly be missed.

I met Lester 23 years ago when I began working at L&B Motors. Over the years Lester and his wife Evelyn have become a dear part of my family. Lester always met each morning with a smile no matter what was was going on. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace my friend.
