Mrs. Lillie Middleton Lewis, 76 of 6671 Pinetucky Road, Wadley, Georgia departed this life Monday, March 2, 2020 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Spear Grove Baptist Church and Cemetery, Wadley, Georgia. Mrs. Lewis was a native of Jefferson County, born to the parentage of the late Joseph and Minnie Brinson Middleton, Sr. She attended Jefferson County Public Schools. Lillie moved to Albany, N.Y. where she lived for a short while. She later moved to Connecticut. While making her home in Connecticut she worked at Dobbs Catering Service and later St. Francis Hospital until 1997. At that time she returned home and reunited with Spears Grove Baptist Church where she worshipped faithfully. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Wilcher Lewis Sr. who enjoyed this journey together. She is preceded in death by one son, Wilcher Lewis, Jr. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Wicher Lewis, Sr., Wadley, GA; one son, Jessie Middleton, CT; two daughters, Barbara Middleton, E. Hartford, CT, Carol B. Lewis, E. Hartford, CT; three brothers, Johnny (Gretchen) Middleton, Windsor, CT, Clifford (Lillian) Middleton, Arizona, Gregory Middleton, Wadley, GA; sisters, Amanda Lewis, Minnie Bell “Sally” Danford, Josephine (Arthur Lee) Danford, Wadley, GA, Laura Bell Crawford, E. Hartford, CT; grandchildren, Keyjuan Oats, Shaquasia Williams, Trevor Coley, Breonna Coley, Cristal Tierney, Jamar Eaton, Keisha Braziel; nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
