Mr. Mark Walden was born on June 21, 1952, to Louise Holloway of Louisville, GA, and the late Lonzie Lewis of Midville, GA. He was the beloved husband of Ella Dogan Walden, married July 23, 1973, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories.
Mark made his transition from labor to reward on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his residence.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Eden Baptist Church, 3525 US Highway 17 South, Louisville, GA. Interment will be held in the church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
At an early age, he joined Eden Baptist Church. He was employed by Thermo King Corporation for many years and later worked at the Glit/Microtron plant in Wrens, GA, retiring in 2013.
In his early years, he was known for his strong sense of community and leadership. It was during this time that he founded a local softball league, bringing the youth together through his love of the game and his belief in teamwork, sportsmanship, and fellowship.
In his later years, he developed a bicycle group named Ride-A-Mile. In his leisure, he enjoyed telling jokes and fishing with his friends and son-in-law. His sense of humor and generosity made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Mr. Mark Walden is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Stephanie Walden Davis, great-granddaughter Derriana Dixon and his sibling Tommy Walden.
Mr. Mark Walden cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife, Ella Dogan Walden, his children, two sons, Andrae Dixon of Louisville, GA, and Marcus Paschell of Philadelphia, PA, three daughters, Marice (Danny) Tucker of Mitchell, GA, Natarsha Kittles of Louisville, GA, and Crystal (Charles) Brown of Louisville, GA. Grandchildren: Aundria Dixon, Gregory Hunter, Nekell Dixon, Brandon Jones, Delarenta Coleman, Kendrez Gilmore, Dontavious Walden, Camron Davis, Christon Brown, Sha-miracle Berry and Steven Flournoy, Jr. Six great-grandchildren: Andreanna Dixon, Landen Hunter, Sequoia Wilcher, Greylin Hunter, Gracelyn Hunter, and NeKyla Dixon. He is also survived by his brothers, Carl (Shavonne) Walden of Miami, FL, James (Charlotte) McBride of Louisville, GA, Lewis (Pamela) McBride of Louisville, GA, and Eric (Felicia) Hollway of Milledgeville, GA. His sisters are Evelyn Tomlin of Swainsboro, GA; Joan McBride (Robbin Warthen) of Louisville, GA, and Melisa Raiford of Augusta, GA. Also, two bonus brothers, Johnnie Lewis of Augusta, GA, and Curtis (Mary) Lewis of Greensboro, TN. Six bonus sisters, Arletta (Ricky) Kelly of Augusta, GA, Cashie Phillips of Waynesboro, GA, Nancy Lewis of Warren, GA, Laura Green, Jean Akins, and Mattie Mae Tindal, all of Palm Beach FL; along with two sisters-in-law, Judy Jordan of Louisville, GA, and Patricia (Robert) Cooper of Louisville, GA. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
