His early years of education were spent at Carver Elementary and Carver Middle School in his hometown. He graduated from Carver High School as a member of the Class of 1969. Continuing his education, he attended Palm Beach Junior College and Broward Community College located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After receiving an Associate Degree in Computer Technology from the aforementioned College, he also received a Degree from the American Institute of Massage Therapy where he was licensed as a Massage Therapist. Capitalizing on his credentials he became the owner and operator of his own business, The Ultimate Therapeutic Massage.
Strong in his Baptist Faith, he followed the admonition of scripture (2nd Timothy 2:15), “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth” and in so doing he found the truth that the seventh day of the week is God’s Holy Sabbath. This led him to embrace the Seventh-day Adventist Faith in 1974 uniting with the Salem Congregation in Pompano Beach, Florida where he served as a Sabbath School Teacher, Youth Leader, Community Service Leader, Communications Leader, Technology Team Leader, Treasurer, Deacon, and an Ordained Elder.
Brother McNair was blessed to have married his childhood sweetheart and to this union one son was born, Robert Tyrone “Tody” McNair. Later in life, Robert met, fell in love again and married Katie Wiggins on February 15, 2015. Katie remained a faithful, loving spouse until his demise on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at ten past two in the afternoon when he departed this life. He is now resting awaiting the call of Jesus, the Life Giver, at the second coming. “Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (1st Corinthians 15:51-52)
Robert is gone, but will never be forgotten as he leaves precious memories with his devoted and committed wife Katie of Louisville, Ga; his son, Robert Tyrone “Tody” McNair of Jacksonville, FL; three grand children, DySchaunna, TySchaunna and Decarious McNair, all of Jacksonville, FL; his great grand sons, Kendell and Kevin also of Jacksonville, FL; two special nieces, Shawn and Debra Williams; two doting nephews, Michael and Troy Williams, also of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters-in-law, Jessie (Ozzie) Phillips of Boca Raton, FL, Christine (Henry, Jr.) Lewis of Louisville, GA, Shirley Wiggins of Huntsville, AL; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Robert was a great friend. When you see Robert, along come Johnny McClam and Artis Johnson. Mimi always called him "little man". When Johnny passed, Robert always called to see if we were okay. I will miss those spiritual talks. Katie may God continue to keep His arms around you. From McClam,Taylor,Pickett, and Williams family. God bless.
