Obituary For Robert Wells, Jr.

Mr. Robert “Shorty” Wells, Jr., 69, 301 Hwy 1 North, Apt 5B, Louisville, GA departed this life Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:00 at New Hope AME Church. Burial will be held in the New Hope AME Cemetery.

“Shorty” as he was lovingly known was born in Jefferson County to the parentage of the late Robert Wells, Sr. and Vallie Brown Wells. He lived in Glascock County but attended Tenders Grove Elementary. He later completed Glascock County Training School.

In 1968 he, along with his family relocated to Jefferson County. At a very early age he joined the New Hope A.M.E. Church. Before his retirement in 2015 Shorty was employed at Thermo King for 13 years, Delilah Manufacturing for 20 years and the City of Louisville for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willie Lewis Wells.

Survivors include his siblings, Zetra Heggs Bush, Macon, GA, Bernice Fields, Byron, GA and Wanda Kay Wells, Louisville, GA; nieces and nephews, Chrishun Hill, Orlando, FL, Latosha Fields, Covington, GA, Willie Lewis (wife Abagail) Wells, Jr., Sandersville, GA, Bessie (husband Larry) Carswell, Louisville, GA; Great niece and nephew, Terry Lynch, Jr. and Shamiya Carswell, Louisville, GA; one brother-in-law, Eugene Fields, Warner Robins, GA. a host of loving cousins and devoted friends.
