A warrior was born January 9, 1923, to the late Harry Gamble and George Mae Gibbons as a twin to the late Martha Gamble. Her name was Mary at birth and later after the death of her twin Martha, her name was changed to Ruby Lee Gamble, and nickname Babe. Ruby was a resident of Bartow, GA for many years and later moved to Wadley, GA where she transitioned her life from the comfort of her home on January 12, 2022, at the age of 99 years old being the last of the 20 children. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Tarver Grove Baptist Church and cemetery, Bartow, Georgia with mask and social distancing. Public viewing will be held Friday, January 21st from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Ruby had her share of hard-working days from working in the cotton fields to working in the factories to make sure her family was taken care of, but she never mumbled or complained about one day of it. She was always upbeat and can tell you the family history from the beginning of the roots to the end of it. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Gamble and George Mae Gibbons, her husband Guss Bass, one daughter Sadie Mae Bass, one son Leroy Bass, nine brothers, two sisters, five half- brothers and three half-sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Dora (Charles) Gilmore, Betty Jean Mckennie, and Ethel (Robert Sr,) Jackson, three sons Jimmy (Judy Ann) Bass, Robert Gamble, and Frankie (Stephaine) Bass, 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren, two special friends Muriel Pitts and Doris Howard, and a host of nieces and nephews.
