Mr. Terry Farmer Sr., a cherished member of the community, was born on October 22, 1962, to the late Claude Farmer Sr. and Evella Wells Farmer. He peacefully passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home in Wrens, GA, surrounded by loved ones.
Celebration of Life services will be held in his honor on January 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Harts Grove Baptist Church, located at 1044 Harts Grove Church Road, Stapleton, Georgia 30823. Following the service, Mr. Farmer will be laid to rest at the Harts Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Terry was a proud native of Jefferson County and a graduate of Wrens High School, class of 1980. His career was diverse and dynamic, beginning with roles at Lewis Steel, Johnny Cat, and Usry’s Backhoe Service. With a passion for entrepreneurship, Terry eventually became self-employed, offering expert maintenance and mechanic services. His skill and dedication were admired by all who knew him.
Terry had a passion for working on cars, a love for watching sports, and a great joy in socializing with family and friends. His warm smile and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Claude Farmer Sr. and Evella Wells Farmer, Terry's legacy continues through his family. He is survived by his children: Terika Farmer (Deandre Hannah) of Stapleton, GA, Kendra (Royce) Kilpatrick of Appling, GA, Tara (Rendell) Haynes of Columbia, MS, Terry Farmer Jr. (Shamical Johnson) of Thomson, GA, Jamarius Smith of Augusta, GA, and Tyrea Smith of Augusta, GA. His siblings, Claude Farmer Jr., Leonard (Darnell) Farmer Sr., Gary Farmer Sr., Sandra Faye Farmer, Cynthia “Shange” Farmer Hill, Patricia Walden, and Debra (Kevin) White, cherish his memory.
Terry's love and influence extend to his grandchildren: Zeriana Brantley, Nylan (Sylus) Ellis, Kiely Haynes, Louis Haynes, Jada Haynes, Rendall Haynes Jr., Alasjah Haynes, Shae’Quan Patterson, Ricardo Tarver Jr., Sky Kendrick, Jamarius Smith Jr., Jamarionna Smith, Amarius Smith, Madison Smith, Allison Lewis, and Jayden Campbell. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will fondly remember him.
Mr. Terry Farmer Sr.'s life was a testament to love, hard work, and community, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
