Mr. Thomas Hales was born on March 29, 1958 in Wrens, Georgia. He lived a fulfilling life and passed away peacefully at his home in Hephzibah on September 27, 2024.
During his lifetime, Mr. Hales worked as a skilled diesel mechanic at an auto shop and at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG). He was dedicated to his craft and took pride in his work, contributing to the success of the businesses he was a part of.
Mr. Hales will be fondly remembered by his loved ones and the community he was a part of. His legacy lives on through the impact he made on those around him.
He is preceded in death by his mother Carrie Bell Hales Mells.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Essie Hales, Wadley, Ga; his daughter, Shynetta (Leon) Briggs; step-children, Kiara Hales, Tyrone Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Derrick Atkins, Keyara Harris, and Angel Beard; siblings, Annie (John) Walden of Wrens, Georgia, Gwendolyn (Gilbert) Williams of Texas, and Patricia Howard; in-laws, K.C. Thomas, Wille Lee Thomas, Johnny Thomas, Harry Thomas, Robert Thomas, Rosie (Carl) Thomas all of Wrens, Georgia, Jimmy (Theresa) Thomas of Thomson, Georgia, Jessie (Stephanie) Thomas of Hinesville, Georgia, Lillie (Willie) Carter of Louisville, Georgia, and Katie (Lester) Green of Hephzibah, Georgia; and grandchildren, Makala Porter of Kansas, Kristaisa Brown of El Paso, Texas, LeAunna, Leon Briggs, DaKarai Huttoe, Kaleb Huttoe, Dyrryk Atkins, Ivoree Raiford, and Kenneth Gorham Jr.; special friend, Nancy Beard, Hephzibah, Georgia.
