A Celebration of the Life of Alexander Griffin, Jr. 1950 ~ 2020

Alexander Griffin, Jr. was born on September 14, 1950 in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Alexander Griffin, Sr. and Mrs. Ella Mae Reese Griffin. He attended Industrial Elementary School and graduated in the Class of 1968 from Wilson High School in Tift County Georgia where he played football. His position was a tackler. He was called “Big Grif” by all who knew him. He attended school in St. Louise Mo. where he received a degree in Computer Technology. After returning home he moved to Atlanta Georgia where he later married Ms. Erma Farley and they later moved to Decatur, Georgia after living in Atlanta for a number of years. He was an entrepreneur in businesses there in Decatur. He later became a Carpenter doing cabinets and lawn furniture. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He loved watching sports and do not get in front of the television when he was watching a game. He was a fair person to all no matter what the situation was, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Especially when he would come home and walk to the Pilot Gas Station for coffee. People would ask me later didn’t I see you brother at the station drinking coffee. He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother: Jesse Griffin. Alexander leaves to mourn his passing but to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of forty eight years, Erma Griffin; two sons, Alex Griffin, III, Sherrod Griffin; grandchildren, mother, Mrs. Ella Mae Griffin; sister, Juanita (Larry) Taylor; sisters-in-law, Brenda Griffin, Debra (Troy) Flagg, Francine, and Dorothy; and a host of nieces, nephews, a great many cousins and friends.
