Celebration of Life Services for the late Mr. David Rowland, Jr., of Decatur, GA., will be held Friday, September 30, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at The Chapel of Donald Trimble Mortuary. Pastor Dexter Rowland, Officiating, Eulogist. Interment, Washington Memorial Gardens, Decatur, GA.
Mr. David Rowland, Jr., leaves to cherish his loving memories, magnificent wife of 42 years, Mrs. Janie Mae Rowland; 2 sons, David Wayne Rowland, Minister Gregory Renard Silvery (Rhonda); daughters, Sarah Davis, Cheryl Price, Sheila Price, Charlene Taylor; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Geneva R. Williams, Mary E. Murphy; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the mortuary Friday, at 10:30 A.M.

Aunt Janie,
Thinking about you at this time of great loss. Uncle David always gave me an escape growing up. During my high school years, I traveled vicariously through him. I loved listening to his tales of travel while driving a truck on the road and couldn't wait until I could do some traveling of my own; which I did enthusiastically after graduating from high school.
Interestingly enough in later years, I think the roles were reversed and he enjoyed traveling vicariously through me. Whenever I came back home to visit from New Mexico, he would want to know some of the details of my travel. I think they helped him reminisce about his own.
I will always carry those memories with me. Those and the fun times laughing at his stories and enjoying his wide-ranging sense of humor. He will not be forgotten.
