Richey, of Decatur, will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at New Beginning Full Gospel Church, 923 Valleybrook Rd., Decatur, GA., with his remains placed in repose at 9:30 A.M. Reverend Tracy Boles, Pastor, Officiating. Interment, Kennedy Memorial Gardens, Ellenwood, GA.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of 65 years, Mrs. Verdis Richey; three children, Bernalle Cliette, John (Sonya) Richey, Chariee (Chris) Bothwell, a son-in-law, Antonio (Jennifer) Ray; eight grandchildren, Chaseney, Shanease (Omar), Jonathan, Joshua, Chynna, Justin, Torry and Chania; six great grandchildren, Irelynn, Amir, Ethan, Madison, Alex, and Eian; one sister Juanita (Archie) Thompson; five brothers and sister in laws Robert, Willie (Rosemary), Melvin (Hattie), Nathaniel and Howard C (Bertha) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family, church family and friends.

I am deeply saddened by the transition of Deacon John Richey. I would look forward to seeing him and Mrs. Verdis on Sunday's. They were always loving towards me, and offering encouragement.
