I thank God for having the privilege of being your baby sister. You inspired me in so many ways. You was a loving, caring, giving and appreciative child of God. You will always be in my heart and I will always remember our journey together as the Patterson Family Singers. You was a strong spiritual leader and singer. Singing for the Lord in a family of 15 brothers and sisters was so special on so many levels and I thank God for you. I look forward to seeing you again Doe and when we do, we will have a hallelujah time in the Lord. Rest in heavenly peace my sweet sister.
Praying God provides the comfort you all need to get through this. Aunt Doretha was such a blessing to me during my childhood. With Love; Sha'Toyia Patterson Glasgow

Doretha, You stand out to me in my life for the woman of GOD you truly are. You left a mark on my soul when you came to N.C and comforted me when my Mother passed away. I thought to myself, what a humble, and Noble act. Only a woman of GOD can do that, because it is in the heart and soul of an individual that guides such divine acts. I love you, because you belong to Christ! We will meet again! Rest in peace, angel of GOD in CHRIST! SINCERELY, Donna Patterson

To the Patterson family. Sis. Fonville was a true woman of God. Whenever you seen her she had that loving and warm smile. Every time she would sing and pray the Holy Ghost will show up. She was known for singing: The Only Way I Know You Can Make It In and I'm A Solider in the army of the Lord. When she opened her mouth you could feel God through her. May God comfort and keep you all. From The Harold Family.
