Homegoing Services for Mrs. Gwendolyn Ficklin, of Decatur, will be held Monday, May 10, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Eastlake United Methodist Church, 2500 Hosea L. Williams Dr., Atlanta, GA. 30317, with remains placed instate at 10:00 A.M. Reverend Jesse Gordon, Chaplain, Pastor, Evangelist, DeBor'ah Williams, Officiating. Interment, Kennedy Memorial Gardens, Ellenwood, GA. Public Viewing and Visitation will be held Sunday, May 9, 2021, 10:00 A.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the mortuary. Mrs. Ficklin leaves to cherish, husband, Milton Ficklin; sons, Antonio Hector, Travis Ficklin, Milton Ficklin, Jr., Desmond Ficklin; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. My sincere condolences to the family. Ruth and Gwen have been friends for years and is how I met Gwen. Ruth wanted me to let the family know, she wished she could have been at Gwen's homecoming, but because of her health, she was unable to do so.

Words sometimes does not quite get the intended message for such a time like this. When you love and spend time with someone and then God steps in and change the course of what my had been planned by you, it can be devastating to the family.
Philippians 4:8 says: Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

My deepest condolences to the Ficklin family for the passing of your love one. Every time I saw Gwen she had a smile on her face and she was full of joy. She's going to be missed but not for gotten. We love you Gwen but God loves you best.
