I miss you auntie Helen! Love you always.
Aunt Helen was a supportive maternal figure to me. She, along with her twin sister were dedicated Aunts to my siblings and I. As a kid, I'd have Christmas dinners at their home in coop city. My excitement as a kid included spending Christmas with Aunt Helen and Ellen and getting a gift of $10. As adulthood neared, Aunt Helen and her twin poured into me in an unrelenting manner. Their words of advice ordered my every step. Aunt Helen and her twin attended every meaningful graduation I ever experienced in my life—-she flew into Fayetteville and praised me as I graduated from college and again showed up as I graduated from law school. Aunt Helen continued to impart her wisdom as I became acquainted with my new profession as an attorney. She'd often rely on me to guide her approach with legal situations and would post legal material to me via USPS so that I could continue to learn and grow. I've never not had Aunt Helen by my side. I've always had her in my life. In death, Auntie, our relationship continues and my children and I will continue to make you proud. We love you Auntie!
