1 Thessalonians 4: 13, 14
Moreover, brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant* about those who are sleeping in death,+ so that you may not sorrow as the rest do who have no hope.+ 14 For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again,+ so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.+
May God give you comfort and strength during this difficult time. With deepest sympathy.

One of my favorite memories is how Jimmy took the time to take my grandson, Nehemiah Johnson, fishing on the lake. My other memory is his wonderful collard greens that he made. But most of all his love for his family and support for his "Pooh" baby Kelsi. We will all miss Jimmy. Wanda Wynn
May God have mercy on you all. I know your hearts are broken. I met Jimmy many years ago and loved him every since. He was always kind and friendly. I admired so much the way he loved Brenda and the rest of his family. He certainly will be missed by all who knew him.so trust GOD and you'll be ok in time Pierette

Jimmie was definitely a wonderful man. He will surely be missed & I'm pretty sure no one can make their fried fish curl the way Jimmie could do it. He has now gone on to a wonderful home to be with his big brother. We offer our sincere condolences to the Upshaw family.
To the Upshaw family. May God bless and hold you in this time. I know the pain can be unbearable but I promise you. The sun shall shine again. Think of the good times and keep God first. Love, Donald L Reynolds

Let me 1st thank the Upshaw family for allowing me to be a part of true love for over 35 yrs. Our Jimmy made everyone welcomed, you couldn't leave an event without loving his since of humor and story telling (You had to listen hard because he could talk fast) Oh, and his cooking, if you didn't like it, bring the bones back. What I'll always remember is that smile and the twinkle he has in his eyes for those that he loved especially when he looked at his girl Brenda. I truly Love this Family... My first encounter with Mr. Upshaw was through he and Mrs. Upshaw's involvement as grandparents when their granddaughter Kelsi was in pre-kindergarten. He tirelessly participated in activities and when he wasn't there physically he sent his part. That was almost 15 years ago and I haven't forgotten the taste of those collard greens yet. In 2017 I was asked by Jill to MC her parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was an honor. Mr. Upshaw "Jimmy" is loved, was a well rounded man and truly a class act. He will be missed.
He will be truly miss and I loved his cooking he was the #1 Chef!My continue prayers are with the family. Keyanna Fluellen-White
Jimmy was my friend. He taught me so much about life and how to live it. His stories of his youth were an inspirational view into his unconditional love for everyone. His Mountain High love for Mrs Brenda, and his guiding love for Jill and Keith. To this day I remember the first time I saw his precious Granddaughter, so tiny laying in One of Dawg's massive hands. Tears of Joy rolled down his face, and they are still rolling down mine thinking about it. Jimmy I see you on that beautiful Lake Fishing and catching the big ones. He is just waiting for the rest of us to Join him. Rest in Peace you Dear Sweet Man we love you always. KC
Jimmy was a good man to us all. How he love his wife Brenda. I met the family through his sister Luck (Rose) in 2007 and we all been non-stop every since. I will truly miss his laugh and smile. Rest In Heaven Mr. Jimmy, no more pain here on this earth, keep smiling. Love Ellen Germany
