Joann will truly be missed. We will cherish her smile, warmth and beautiful personality. We enjoyed many laughs and our moments spent with her in Georgia and in New Orleans. JoAnn(Jo)was a rare jewel. Although our family met her at church, she wasn't just a church member. She was so much more. To our family, she was family too. We included her in every event we had. She joked that she had to go through TSA to get to us because we live 35 minutes away. Our time at TKT (especially on Tuesday nights) was hilarious. We joked that she was the oldest, but I was in charge except for when it came to my granddaughter because she was her "G-G". I am so glad I had the opportunity to talk to or visit almost every day until God called her home. I see her smile and hear her laughter every morning. Jodi was one of one, my sister in creativity, that was our common denominator, we bounced ideas off each other for 20+yrs. from Christmas decor, candy tables, calligraphy, cooking, centerpieces, books, hair, to cake gate(lol).. and finally balloons.. as with anything you did, you did it YOUR way with intense passion. Peaceful blessings to the family and friends Los Angeles High School classmate JoAnn Thompson. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I was blessed to share high school years with her, where we served our school together and enjoyed three years filled with fun, laughter, and lasting memories. I last saw JoAnn at our 50th class reunion this past August, and I am grateful for that moment of reconnection. Her spirit, kindness, and presence will be deeply missed. May she rest in peaceful blessings, and may comfort surround all who loved her during this time of loss.

JoAnn was a wonderful woman, so full of light and laughter. She will be missed but I take comfort that she is in the hands ✋️ of God.

My friend, It's so hard to believe you will no longer be here to light the room with your smile and laughter! I remember the day you called to AT&T for directions on your first day as you were loss, I gave you directions and met you when you arrived and that was the beginning of our friendship. I will never forget your smile, your laughter and your many God given gifts and talents you shared with everyone you meet. You left your mark on this earth and you will never be forgotten

Final word Ge Ge. I mourn for you and all who mourn you

I know you as Ge Ge. When I met you when our grandson Kyler was born, I came to love and admire you as "a warriors chasing after God's heart" just like King David. So rooted in God and Christ. I am truly grateful to you for being model for him since I lived about 700 miles away. You along with Kyler's Mom, Jann shaped him into the wonderful young man he is today. Last time I saw you was in July when you journeyed to Jackson, Tn to comfort us when Kyler's Dad, my and my husband's son passed away suddenly it really ripped the family and for you to go so quickly, I can only look to God to carry me through. We love you, we mourn for you, my Grandson Kyler, Mom Jann, his sister Bree and the entire family.

Jo was a very special person. A beautiful smile. She would visit me at my part time job at Kroger smiling and telling me how she liked our floral dept. She will definitely be missed

Jodi, Words cannot describe the pain I am feeling nor describe the value of our so very special sisterhood. You are a light that will never dim. I am thanking God for our relationship and how our families intertwined through so much of our lives. So many awesome memories through laughter as well as tears. You have always been the rock and cornerstone of our sisterhood and GIRLFRIENDS sisterhood connections. Final words... you are A GIFT FROM GOD and truly Loved 🥰! We miss you Sista!!!!

Joann was a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit. She was always so thoughtful and nice to me. We worked at AT&T in Atlanta together. So sorry for the family's loss. 🙏🏾

Thank you Joann for all the things you taught me. You kept me inspired by telling me to always express myself no matter what was going on. You always said speak your thoughts and ideas. When you inspired me to eat healthy I became vegetarian for many years. When you taught me about black culture and independence I ran with it and that is my foundation still today. When you gave me rides in the Vega plus the bug we would listen to music and you would tell me "boy you don't know what you talking bought this is what good music is" I remember when Jordache jeans came out and I bought a pair. You said them ain't jeans these Levi's is the best. You even told me you were going to store your jeans for future use because they would always be the best. You were right 41 years later they still the best. So many things I learned from you. I remember just like yesterday. When I was graduating from high school I looked into the crowd for my family. You were there for me gesturing with you hands saying you made it. I even followed in your footsteps and went to Cal State Northridge. So many beautiful memories and thoughts of the things we did together. You are and will always be a wonderful Big Sister Thank you God for allowing me the time to be with my sister and now she has been called home because her work is complete here. I will forever continue to live out the ideas and lessons you taught me. I Love You
