From the time I joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church and joined the choir, Mrs. Mattie was always friendly and sweet. I was always greeted in the kindest way. Always asked about my son and grandsons, and, always had something encouraging to say. She and I talked from time to time on the phone. I had the opportunity to speak and pray with her for a little while shortly before she went home to Glory. She was looking forward to returning to Salem after the pandemic, and, returning to the choir. I will definitely miss her. I found a friend in her. A friendship that I will cherish. (Paulene Kinsey)
