To The Candy and Norman Family We are so sorry to hear about Sonny passing. Sonny and I were first cousin's who grew up in Elberton, GA. I did not get to see him that often once I married and moved to Knoxville, TN. However, I have fond memories of his kindness and sense of humor. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the family. May God continue to keep his loving arms around each of you during and beyond this difficult time.
Rev. Washington Canty will always be remembered for his spiritual songs, inspirational sermons, & heartfelt words of wisdom that he graciously shared with us throughout the years. We will continue to honor his great legacy & apply his spiritual teachings to our daily lives as we follow the path God has prepared for us. He will be forever loved & never forgotten. We are sending our condolences & special love to the Canty Family.

Prayers for the whole family
Childhood memories are very important to me. Growing up in Elberton, Georgia, Sonny, as we fondly called him, was my neighbor and friend. He was so pleasant and fun to be around. He was the quiet one. Joe was not so quiet ๐
Ma and daddy got so concerned when they would come down to the house and ride our mules, Polly and Molly because they were used for plowing, only LOL! Sonny and Joe were fearless!
He was a groomsman at our wedding back in 1982. We kept in touch via social media. His comments were complementary and uplifting each time he posted. That was Sonny.
Rest in the peace of God dear Sonny. Blessings and much love to the family. Maxineโค๏ธ
