My Dearest Miss Ruby aka Cultural Historian Ruby B,
You were the heartbeat for me in the the Drama Department from 1981 -1985. I am so glad we stayed in contact over the years especially these last 3 years from 2017 -2020. Thank you for always loving me and being an amazing Angel to me and so many others at Spelman/ Morehouse ( SpelHouse). Welcome to the fold of the Ancestors as you continue to keep watch from your newest resting place. Rest in Power. I will miss you. Grace. Mercy. Peace. Always, Your Other Son, Charles Reese, Los Angeles, CA
Ms. Byrom, you are one of my favorite memories about my time at Spelman. You treated us all as if we were your nieces and nephews, and I can't express enough how that always made us feel loved and like were at a home away from our homes. I will very much miss you and the love you still continued to show me even years after I graduated. I'll miss seeing your beautiful face and name pop up on my FB posts, with you telling me how proud you are of me. Well, I'm proud of you and the beautiful life you lived while here with us and the light you gave so many. May you rest in the sweetest peace in the presence of God. My love and prayers to the family. Love Always, Toccarra Cash (Spelman College c/o '05)
To Christana and family, you are in our prayers. God bless you through this time and forever more. We love you. Michael and Angel Long
Ms. Byron, you were the selfless variable that did not change, the thru line, the arc, the voice, the life-line, the counselor, the matriarch. My my my, you made a mark. You set a standard for how to love, nourish and take care of the Spelman College Drama Department--its staff, its students, and its legacy. May we value and continue what you so tirelessly started. I write this with teary eyes of sadness. Much Love and Respect. Pamela-Faith Jackson C'89

Sending my love & support to MS. Byrum's family. She truly made a difference in the lives of so many Spelman & Morehouse students. She was our Mom away from home. She always looked out for us & encouraged us with honesty. She even bought my car when I left school and enjoyed it for years. I will always cherish the love she shared with us and the lessons she taught us. Thank you for graciously sharing her with us.
Rest in peace. You will be truly missed. Forever in our hearts and thoughts..Hannah & Sonja Evans.

I wish my sincere and deepest condolences to my siblings and other extended family. May you find the comfort of our Savior Jesus Christ in the midst of your sorrow. I have faith that the memory of your mom will give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. Her beautiful legacy now lives in each of you to tell the story to future generations. She has earned her wings. We must do the same.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Truly, God smiled on Ma Ruby. She smiled back and gave God her hand. She's at home in the safety of his arms.
